Schools & Services
The Anderson Valley Unified School District provides preschool through 12th grade education. Schools included are Peachland Preschool, Anderson Valley Elementary School, Anderson Valley Junior/Senior High School, and Rancheria Continuation School. There is also an Adult School which provides classes in English, Spanish, and citizenship, among others.
Anderson Valley is also the home of Public Radio KZYX 90.7 FM. Established in 1989 with studios and offices located in Philo, the station broadcasts throughout Mendocino County and beyond.
The Anderson Valley Health Center (AVHC) offers medical services, well baby care, & family planning services M-F 9 - 5, dental services M-Th 9-5. Alternative health care is available. For appointments call (707) 895-3477.
The Anderson Valley Ambulance Service provides professional emergency ambulance services to the entire community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It is a non-profit organization that operates with an all volunteer crew. Yearly memberships are available at a very reasonable rate. Call Bruce at (707) 895-3123.
Our local fire department works hard to keep the residents and their homes and property safe from fire. It is comprised entirely of volunteers.
Library & Bookmobile
We have a small local library at the Mendocino County Fairgrounds in Boonville. It is open 2:00 - 4:00 on Saturdays, and 1:30 - 4:30 on Tuesdays. It is closed July through September.
The Mendocino County Bookmobile brings books to communities throughout the county, including Navarro, Philo, and Boonville.
The Boonville Airport (elevation 371 feet), located a short distance up Mountain View Road and west of Highway 128, boasts 3200 feet of newly resurfaced runway.
Anderson Valley Elder Home
The Anderson Valley ElderHome is a non-profit, grassroots community effort to create a much-needed local assisted living facility. We manage a duplex with two independent-living rentals for seniors, and we are actively raising funds to remodel a single family home into five assisted-living suites.
